Can I form a dependency on Cialis?

Question: I have recently ordered some Cialis for occasional erection problems I experience when I am with a partner.  As I do not have problems when I am alone, is it possible to form a dependency on Cialis whereby, over time and repeated use, I will eventually be unable to achieve any erections without the assistance of the drug?

Answer:From a medical point of view, there is no evidence that oral prescription ED treatments cause any dependency. Cialis enables you to physically achieve and sustain an erection when stimulated as it increases the blood flow into the penis. If you easily achieve an erection when masturbating but not while with a partner, it is likely to be due to psychological reasons such as stress or a feeling of pressure - if you are worried about not being able to perform while with your partner, chances are high that this is exactly what is going to happen. Therefore, Cialis can be a good means to help you overcome this fear. Saying this, it is important to remember that no ED drug is guaranteed to work - Cialis itself does not give you an erection, you do need to be sexually aroused. I recommend that you keep on using Cialis as you have before - take it whenever you feel like you need to. When you are with your partner, it is important that you feel comfortable and relaxed, and not pressured into having intercourse.
