Overview of Prescription Services Available in the UK.

Why should I choose your service when I can obtain treatment on the NHS?
Government "rationing" of prescriptions for many non life threatening treatments, means that getting treatment for conditions such as hair loss and impotence can be tricky. For example, in the case of erectile dysfunction it is estimated that as few as one in ten people who visit their local GP is entitled to free treatment on the NHS. Even when a patient finds they are eligible, this is limited to small amounts, usually four doses per month.

In that case, what are the options?

Private Doctor

Private doctors vary hugely with their pricing but generally they all have high initial charges. Repeat prescriptions are usually not a problem. However, you will be charged for each prescription and pay full price for this treatment at the pharmacy. You can try asking your NHS GP for a private prescription (roughly four times the cost of an NHS prescription). Many GPs will be happy to issue you one but will charge you a fee for the service.

Medi Center (Drop-in)

These centers provide complete medical services, including in-house dispensing of treatments. Getting an appointment is usually not a problem - all you need do is drop in. However, you will still be subjected to 3 or 4 examinations and be charged individually for these. Repeat prescriptions available and the process is the same as private doctors (above).

MyOnlinedoctor

With MyOnlineDoctor, we can provide you an equivalent service of a private doctor but with more discretion, convenience and for a fraction of the cost. Being a UK-registered company, we are subject to tight statutory controls regarding all aspects of our service including:

From the comfort of your own home, our customers fill an online consultation which is passed on to our GMC registered doctor for review. Upon approval (usually taking no more than 3 hours Mon -Fri), patients are able to log into the site and order from a range of treatments that the doctor has made available. All orders made before 3pm Mon - Fri are sent that same day and should arrive at your door the following day. Our prices include free packaging.
